On receiving payment for your classroom-based Working Safely course, an email with your ‘course joining instructions’ is sent to you.

This document includes the following details:
• The date of your chosen course
• Course start time at the venue
• Address of your chosen venue, including a map screenshot
• Details of what to do if you need any special requirements to complete the course, such as a physical disability or a learning or reading difficulty

You need to bring photographic ID, such as a driving licence or passport with you.
All course materials are provided for you to complete the IOSH Working Safely course.
Lunch is not included, so please provide your own.

Can I use this qualification towards my ECS or CSCS card?

If you do not hold a JIB approved course, you will need to apply for an ECS card with a reference letter from your employer to prove you work in the electrical industry and achieve the certificate for a course such as IOSH Working Safely or CITB Heath and Safety Awareness. To see a list of ECS card types and their individual qualification requirements on ECS website here.

To apply for a CSCS card, the IOSH Working Safely is no longer an accepted certification. They require the completion of a certificate such as the CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course.

IOSH Working Safely Course

IOSH Working Safely is a one-day course which covers the essentials of health and safety within a working environment. The course is designed to be a high-impact programme, to be fun and inclusive, delivered with an enjoyable, interactive and stimulating learning approach ultimately teaching delegates “how to work safely”.

Health and safety is everyone’s responsibility: the course teaches delegates that small changes in everyday behaviours can be crucial in keeping themselves and their colleagues safe and how risks are assessed within the workplace. In addition, it also touches on how business performance and staff motivation can be improved through good health and safety practices as well as the relevant laws associated with health and safety.

Virtual IOSH Managing Safely Qualification

With the virtual training, you can gain the IOSH Working Safely certificate you need for your job or to further your career, without leaving your home. There is no difference between the IOSH qualification gained on a classroom-based course and the virtual course.

What do I need?

All you need to attend a virtual course is access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone and webcam to use for the duration of the course. Most laptops have a webcam and microphone built-in however, if you are unsure if your laptop, internet, microphone or anything else is suitable, we can arrange a short test meeting before you book or attend your course to check. This course cannot be attended on a mobile phone.

You’ll join the course using a link in your joining instructions, the course is run on Zoom. Zoom is free to use, you can download it here but if you’d rather not download it you can open the meeting in your browser.

Virtual IOSH Working Safely Course Details

On receiving payment for your virtual Working Safely course, an email with your ‘course joining instructions’ is sent to you.
This document includes the following details:

• Your chosen course start date
• Course start time on Zoom (make sure you are set up and ready 15 minutes before the start time)
• Instructions of how to join a Zoom meeting and the link you will need to attend your course along with the meeting ID and password
• Details of what to do if you need any special requirements to complete the course, such as a physical disability or a learning or reading difficulty
• A link to access your PDF workbook
• How to access a mock test for the IOSH Working Safely assessment

Make sure you have access to pen and a pad or paper for making notes.
